In the Gospel of Luke, we are introduced to the shepherds on a hillside near Bethlehem, who were among the first to hear the joyous news of Jesus’ birth. Considered outcasts and tasked with the night shift of watching over their flocks, these shepherds received an extraordinary visit from an angel proclaiming the birth of the Savior, Jesus Christ. Overwhelmed by the angelic vision and message, they quickly sought out the newborn and shared the good news with all they encountered, setting an example of faith and evangelism.
On a quiet night outside Bethlehem, lowly shepherds received the most incredible news: a Savior is born! An angel appeared to these humble outcasts, proclaiming the birth of Jesus Christ. Their joy was so overwhelming that they couldn’t keep silent—they had to share the good news!
