Laura’s path to the Olympics wasn’t straightforward. Inspired by Mary Lou Retton, she first pursued gymnastics, but it wasn’t until age 15 that she found her true passion in diving. Competing in three Olympic Games and making a remarkable comeback at 43 with her kids cheering her on, Laura’s journey is a testament to perseverance. Through every challenge, her faith in God grew stronger, guiding her through both triumphs and trials. Now, she shares her experiences, spreading a powerful message of hope and determination.
Laura Wilkinson, an iconic figure in the world of diving, joins us today. Laura’s illustrious career is nothing short of extraordinary, marked by numerous accolades that highlight her incredible dedication and talent in her sport.
As a diver, Laura achieved the pinnacle of success by winning the gold medal in platform diving at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, a feat that has cemented her legacy in the world of sports. Her achievements extend far beyond that, with 19 national titles to her name and inductions into five prestigious halls of fame, including the International Swimming Hall of Fame.
