In the last two podcasts we have looked at trials and failures as things in life that can break us. We have seen the beauty, joy, and strength that God can bring out of those circumstances. In today’s podcast Mark Rae will share about the difficulties of suffering – the reasons for them and the responses to them as seen through the characters of Peter, David, Paul, and Christ.
Have you ever experienced failure? If you have spent any amount of time in life on this earth, you have failed, and those failures can break you. If there is one person who understood failure in full measure it would be the Apostle Peter. Time and time again he failed spectacularly but through those failures he experienced wisdom, faith and grace in abundance.
“Life breaks us all”, so says Earnest Hemingway, “but many are made strong at the broken places.” The truth of this statement can be seen throughout the Scriptures not only on what we are taught but also in the lives of certain biblical characters.
In this 6-week study, we will journey together through things in life that can break us and what God does in our brokenness to strengthen us and to bring beauty and joy out of our broken places.
In this first podcast we will take a look at trials and see what James tells us is the reality of trials, the response we are to have to trials and the result of our response to those trials. Let’s listen as Mark Rae, Vice President of Community Development at Grace School of Theology and Executive Director of Grace Center for Spiritual Development shares with us the beauty and joy that God can bring out of trials.
